Adaptive potential of Ukrainian oat varieties

Adaptive variability of early potato in the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine

Метою було передбачено дослідити динаміку формування врожайності картоплі ранньої на 40 добу залежно від погодних умов років досліджень та адаптивний потенціал ранньостиглих сортів картоплі. Упродовж 2018-2024 рр. у польових умовах (м. Умань, 48°46′N, 30°14′E) досліджено 10 поширених в зоні Лісостепу сортів картоплі ранньостиглої. Для аналізу отриманих результатів використано загальноприйняті методи польових і генетико-статистичних досліджень. Під час проведення досліджень вивчено кількість і масу товарних бульб в кущі, динаміку формування врожаю на 40 добу після появи сходів та силу кореляційного зв’язку між врожайністю і сумою опадів. У результаті одержаних даних визначено найбільш перспективні сорти для отримання раннього врожаю ранньої картоплі у Лісостепу України. Встановлено, що даній кліматичній зоні найбільше відповідають сорти Базалія, Торнадо, Медісон з врожайністю 11,0-11,7 т/га та великою масою товарної бульби – 58-60 г. У фазу повної стиглості найбільш врожайними виявилися сорти Медісон – 37,2 т/га (+18,6 т/га контролю), Торнадо – 34,7 т/га (+16,1 т/га до контролю), Дума і Базалія – 31,4 і 32,2 т/га (+12,8 і 13,6 т/га до контролю). Дослідженнями встановлено, що сорти Торнадо і Медісон формують найбільшу кількість товарних бульб в кущі.

Agrobiological assessment of green bean varieties by adaptability, productivity, and nitrogen fixation.

У статті наведено результати дослідження адаптивної мінливості сортів квасолі спаржевої за параметрами індивідуальної продуктивності, урожайності зелених бобів і насіння та продуктивності азотфіксації. Методи. Дослідження проводили в умовах навчально-виробничого відділу Уманського національного університету садівництва впродовж 2020–2022 рр., використовували шість сортів, поширених у виробництві. Для вивчення параметрів адаптивної мінливості використано стандартні методи генетико-статистичного аналізу. Результати складаються з двох груп параметрів. Перша група містить результати, які показують найважливіші адаптивно-продуктивні характеристики (маса бобів з рослини, врожайність, пластичність, стабільність, селекційна цінність, адаптивність). Другу групу складають параметри харчової цінності (вміст цукрів, аскорбінової кислоти, сухої речовини, жирів, вуглеводів і енергетична цінність сировини) та продуктивність азотфіксації досліджуваних популяцій (кількість бульбочок і маса бульбочок, вміст легоглобіну та об’єм фіксованого азоту). Дослідження фенологічних змін показало, що залежно від сорту до настання технічної стиглості проходить від 54 до 67 діб, а варіювання даної ознаки складає 8 %. Найкоротшим періодом до збору зелених бобів характеризувалися сорти Зоренька і Касабланка. Варіювання періоду вегетації до настання біологічної стиглості було у межах 90 – 108 діб (CV = 6 %). За показником прикріплення нижнього боба виявлено придатні сорти до механізованого збору врожаю – Зоренька і Касабланка. Аналізуючи параметри адаптивності ознак «маса бобів» та «врожайність» виявлено стабільний сорт – Фруідор та високопродуктивні сорти інтенсивного типу Палома, Лаура, Зоренька і Касабланка. Найбільш врожайним був сорт Зоренкьа – 12,7 т/га, а найменш врожайним – Фруідор – 1,9 т/га. За врожайністю насіння виділилися сорти Пурпурова королева, Зоренька та Касабланка врожайність яких була на рівні 2,22–2,89 т/га, що більше від стандарту на 30,8–70,6 %. Аналізуючи залежність параметрів росту і розвитку рослин квасолі спаржевої, видно, що дані ознаки в більшій мірі залежать від умов (CVA, %) у яких вони формувалися, аніж від генотипової складової (CVG, %). Висновки. У результаті екологічного вивчення сортів квасолі спаржевої встановлено, що умови Лісостепу України підходять для отримання якісної сировини для переробки і ведення насінництва.
Agrobiological characteristics of spelt wheat and intermediate wheatgrass in the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine

Estimation of spelt wheat and the species of intermediate wheatgrass by the main agrobiological indicators (calendar dates of the beginning of the main phases of plant development, plant height dynamics, dry mass accumulation, grain yield and protein content) compared to soft wheat was done. The index of stability of grain yield formation was determined. It was found that the main phases of development in spelt wheat occurred on average 10–15 days later than in soft wheat. Plants of intermediate wheatgrass in the first year of cultivation had slower growth. The main phases of development in plants of intermediate wheatgrass of the second and third year of growth occurred almost in the same time with soft wheat. It was established that spelt wheat and intermediate wheatgrass were significantly superior to soft wheat in plant height. In the earing phase, the height of these plants was on average more than 100 cm, which had to be taken into account when growing these crops. It varied from 25 to 42 cm in spelt wheat and from 29 cm to 57 cm in intermediate wheatgrass during the stem elongation phase depending on the weather conditions of the research year. This indicator ranged from 107 cm to 113 cm and from 96 cm to 117 cm, respectively, in the earing phase, and from 137 to 168 cm and from 107 cm to 196 cm in the phase of milk ripeness of grain. Plants of spelt wheat and intermediate wheatgrass had a high stability index of the formation of dry matter and grain yield. It should be noted that intermediate wheatgrass formed a significant vegetative mass even in the earing phase. The vegetative mass in spelt wheat was formed during the earing period – full ripeness of grain. These crops (spelt wheat – 22.1  0.4, intermediate wheatgrass – 22.4–24.6  0.2–0.5) were significantly superior to soft wheat (12.1  0.5) by the content of protein in grain, so it was recommended to involve them in the selection programs to create species with high productivity. However, spelt wheat (5.58  0.13) was less and intermediate wheatgrass (0.98–1.22  0.14–0.18) was the most inferior to soft wheat (8.03  0.27) in terms of grain yield
Agrobiological evaluation of Allium ampeloprasum L. variety samples in comparison with Allium sativum L. cultivars

The purpose of investigation is to study the biological and morphological features, to establish the economic and valuable characteristics of the introduced and local forms of Allium ampeloprasum L. in comparison with Allium sativum L. and to study the effect of removal of the scape in the yield. The studies used field, statistical, settlement and analytical methods. The weight of the bulb without removing the inflorescence shoot of the cultivar Sofiivskyi was 28.4– 53.3 g smaller than the variety samples No. 2 and No. 3 respectively. With removing the scape the difference increased by 60.5–68.6 g. The yield of No. 2 variety sample Allium ampeloprasum L. without removing the scape was lower than the standard by 1.7 t ha-1 while the variety sample No. 3 exceeded the standard by 1.1 t ha-1. With the removal of inflorescence shoot the yields of variety samples No. 2 and No. 3 exceeded the cultivar Sofiivskyi by 1.6 and 2.2 t ha-1. It has been established according to the researches that introduced forms of Allium ampeloprasum L. have high indicators of economic and valuable characteristics, but they are limited in the first years of cultivation, by the period of adaptation to the new soil and climatic conditions.

Agroecological conditions of forming crop yield and quality of millet seeds

Analytical review of national and foreign literature sources to optimize agroecological conditions of seed crops of millet seed is shown. Data on plant response and quality of the formed seed for nutritious regime of the soil, moisture conditions, light and heat is presented. The analysis found that scientists and manufacturers to this day have no consensus on the impact of agroecological conditions on developing the largest amount of high yield of millet seed. A large number of reports has a considerable antiquity, studies were made in different regional conditions, a comprehensive study of the impact of agroecological factors for forming sowing qualities and yielding properties of millet seed in terms of Right-Bank Forest Steppe of Ukraine was not carried out.
Binary sowings as a basis for the intensification of fodder production industry

In the article analytical literature review of Ukrainian and world best practices on common vetch growing in binary sowings was conducted. Scientific publications of domestic and foreign scientists on the significance of binary crops in fodder production, selection of crops for joint cultivation were analyzed. The generalization and systematization of the studied material was carried out. Purpose of the research was to conduct an analytical literature review of Ukrainian and world best practices on common vetch growing in binary crops. General scientific methods, in particular, the following: hypothesis, observation, analysis, synthesis, induction and deduction, abstraction and generalization were used during the research. Own observations and literature sources from the chosen field of research were the uased in the material. Scientific publications of domestic and foreign scientists on the significancy of binary crops in fodder production, selection of crops for joint growing were analyzed to achieve this purpose. Generalization and systematization of the studied in tha research material was carried out. Conclusions. It was found that common vetch is mainly cultivated in mixtures with spring cereals. This crop can be grown for both spring and summer sowing in topping and post-harvest sowings with oats, barley, Sudan grass and other spring cereal crops; for hay and seeds — in arid conditions with a continental climate. However, seed yields in such regions are very low and vary considerably depending on the amount and distribution of spring rains. Providing of livestock production with high-quality fodders due to legume-and-cereal mixtures of annual crops makes it possible to expand the range of fodders in the diets of ruminants in the stall period

Rhododendrons, as highly decorative representatives of the world flora, are characterized by a variety of shapes, size and color of flowers and leaves, crown type and plant size. Under conditions of introduction, they can be deciduous, evergreen and semi-evergreen. All this contributed to the widespread popularization of these plants in Europe, Asia and North America. Wide ecological plasticity of rhododendrons promotes their use in park building, landscaping of cities, settlements and industrial enterprises. Рододендрони, як високо декоративні представники світової флори, характеризуються різноманітністю форм, розміром та забарвленням квіток та листків, видом крони та розміром рослин. В умовах інтродукції вони можуть бути листопадними, вічнозеленими та напіввічнозеленими. Все це сприяло широкій популяризації цих рослин в країнах Європи, Азії та Північної Америки. Широка екологічна пластичність рододендронів сприяє використанню їх у паркобудівництві, озелененні міст, селищ та промислових підприємств.
ECOLOGICAL AND BIOLOGICAL FEATURES OF FORMATION OF MILLET SEEDS

The analytical review of domestic and foreign literary sources on the condition and prospects of grain and seed production in Ukraine for the period up to 2025 was carried out. The top directions of millet breeding and seed production were determined. The ecological and biological features of formation of high-quality seed grain of millet (Panicum melliaceum L.) were analyzed. It was established that the formation and development of seeds of a millet plant is not simultaneous, and accordingly its supply with nutrients is also different. The level of this supply is connected with the intensity of photosynthesis and the flow of mineral nutrients, which, in turn, is determined by environmental conditions. The interrelation of these conditions with the relevant seed quality indexes is not only of scientific interest, as its morphological and physiological and biochemical properties affect the sowing qualities of the seed grain. Наведено аналітичний огляд вітчизняних і зарубіжних літературних джерел, щодо стану та перспектив виробництва зерна і насіннєвого матеріалу в Україні на період до 2025 року. Визначено пріоритетну напрями селекції і насінництва проса. Проаналізовано еколого-біологічні особливості формування високоякісного насіннєвого матеріалу проса посівного (Panicum melliaceum L.). Встановлено, що утворення й розвиток насіння на рослині проса відбувається неодночасно, відповідно й забезпеченість його поживними речовинами також неоднакова. Рівень цієї забезпеченості пов’язаний з інтенсивністю фотосинтезу та надходженням елементів мінерального живлення, що, в свою чергу, визначається умовами зовнішнього природного середовища. Встановлення взаємозв’язку цих умов з відповідними показниками якості насіння має не лише науковий інтерес, так як його морфологічні та фізіолого-біохімічні властивості впливають на посівні якості насіннєвого матеріалу.

Ecological plasticity, stability, and nitrogen-fixing capacity of edible bean cultivars in the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine

Метою досліджень передбачалося дослідження впливу кліматичних умов років досліджень на зміну показників продуктивності й екологічної пластичності й стабільності сортів бобів овочевих. Крім цього, досліджено азотфіксуючий потенціал сортів бобів овочевих для біологізації галузі землеробства. Дослідження проведені в умовах навчально-виробничого відділу Уманського національного університету садівництва впродовж 2020-2022 рр., використано дев’ять сортів бобів овочевих. Для вивчення параметрів адаптивної мінливості використано стандартні методи статистичного аналізу. У результаті порівняльного вивчення дано характеристику різних параметрів адаптивного потенціалу сортів бобів овочевих за ознаками: настання фази технічної стиглості: Б’янко і Екстра Грано Віолетто – 78 діб. За врожайністю й адаптивністю у фазу технічної стиглості виділилися сорти Віндзорські (16,42 т/га), Б’янко (13,73 т/га) і Свитязь (11,51 т/га), за врожайністю й адаптивністю у фазу біологічної стиглості сорти Бахус (1,92 т/га) і Свитязь (1,90 т/га); з підвищеним вмістом протеїну у незрілому зерні сорти Кармазін (12,77 г/100 г), Віндзорські (13,51 г/100 г), Б’янко (14,30 г/100 г), Зелені низинні (14,43 г/100 г); з високою азотфіксуючою здатністю сорти Українські слобідські (67,7 кг/га), Віндзорські (71,0 кг/га) і Екстра Грано Віолетто (75,7 кг/га). Результати статистичного аналізу показали істотний вплив екологічних умов на формування показників продуктивності сортів бобу овочевого і більшу залежність від екологічних умов (CVA = 10,40-82,7 %) аніж від генетичної складової (CVG = 5,76-39,7 %). Отримані дані вказують, що є тенденція зворотного зв’язку між врожайністю і стабільністю врожаю, причому низьковрожайні сорти демонструють стабільність, а високоврожайні сорти – нестабільні. Представлені результати дають уявлення про зміну параметрів продуктивності бобів овочевих за контрастних погодних умов, що дає змогу виділити сорти з високою продуктивністю на продовольчі цілі та з більшою часткою високобілкової й енергетично цінної споживчої продукції.
