Abstract
The production and consumption of organic products in the EU is growing
steadily due to the policy of ensuring the sustainability of the agricultural sector within
the EU. The governmental support provides stimulation of organic markets
development. The aim of this article was to evaluate the segment of producers and
buyers of organic products in the EU for 2012-2019. The results show a positive
dynamics to the growth of the number of organic producers in the EU (by 15.2% for
2012-2019). It was found that the most developed countries have the highest number
of producers and the total volume of the distribution market. The number of producers
does not determine the volume of organic production in the EU countries.
